  1. Until tomorrow...published at 20:05 GMT 7 December 2025

    #bbcfacup

It's been an exciting day in the FA Cup, with 14 goals across five games and two non-league sides making it into the draw for the third round.

There is one more FA Cup live text on the way tomorrow.

It's another League One side with a potentially tricky tie against National League opposition as Brackley Town host Burton Albion (19:30 GMT).

Just before then there is also the draw for the third round (18:40 GMT) when the minnows will hope to pull out plum Premier League opposition.

We will, of course, have coverage of both. Until then, good night!

  2. Carlisle 'had to protect players'published at 20:02 GMT 7 December 2025

    FT: Blackpool 4-1 Carlisle

Carlisle United manager Mark Hughes on TNT Sports on returning to league action at home to Woking: "We have got a big game on Wednesday.

"We had to protect a number of players so that they are ready. We are missing three centre-halves.

"Just got to pick ourselves up and make sure we get back onto another 11-12 game run."

  3. 'Not sure if we want a big team or not'published at 20:00 GMT 7 December 2025

    FT: Blackpool 4-1 Carlisle

Blackpool's Ashley Fletcher discusses his excellent scoring form on TNT Sports:

"I'm really enjoying my football at the moment and long may it continue.

I need to keep chipping in with goals and help the team.

"I'm really happy, but we keep going.

"We are not sure if we want a big team or not (in the third round). We will see what happens."

  4. 'Had we got a second goal, who knows?'published at 19:57 GMT 7 December 2025

    FT: Blackpool 4-1 Carlisle

Carlisle boss Mark Hughes on TNT Sports: "We are guilty of just allowing them to have good moments and it seemed like every time our play was good, they would go up the other end and score a goal.

"We started off really brightly. They scored against the run of play in my view.

"We had key moments where we needed to get back on terms. The keeper has made an outstanding save.

"In the second half, we had a chance at 3-1. Had we got a second goal there, who knows?"

  5. Blackpool must now focus on leaguepublished at 19:55 GMT 7 December 2025

    FT: Blackpool 4-1 Carlisle

Blackpool boss Ian Evatt on TNT Sports: "When we get it right, we are a hard team to play against.

"Carlisle had nothing to lose and we had everything to lose.

"They left bodies forward. They transitioned really fast.

"Football is highs and lows. We have another game on Wednesday."

Blackpool, who are inside the relegation zone in League One, next play Rotherham United away.

  6. 'We were dominant' - Fletcherpublished at 19:53 GMT 7 December 2025

    FT: Blackpool 4-1 Carlisle

Blackpool goalscorer Ashley Fletcher has been speaking to TNT Sports: "Really important to get the win today, especially after the last couple of weeks.

"I thought Carlisle were fantastic, especially in the second half. They brought 3,500 fans.

"We were dominant, really sticking to the framework which the manager wants.

'We got the three early goals and we are into the next round, which is great."

I don't think that they should be too affected by that.

There is a real connection between the players and the fans and the fans can see they were playing for the shirt.

They are a level-headed group and the manager is level-headed too.

He wasn't getting too carried away.

I don't think it was a 4-1 game - but not everything is going to go your way.

And I think it will be forgotten if they can beat Woking on Wednesday.

  8. Sadler's Saddlers soar into round threepublished at 19:48 GMT 7 December 2025

    FT: Gateshead 0-2 Walsall

There was to be no upset at the International Stadium as League Two leaders Walsall eased to a 2-0 win over National League strugglers Gateshead.

A first-half penalty from Daniel Kanu and a second-half effort from defender Aden Flint saw Mat Sadler's side reach the third round for just the second time in seven seasons.

  9. 'The team has been low on confidence' - Evattpublished at 19:45 GMT 7 December 2025

    FT: Blackpool 4-1 Carlisle

Blackpool manager Ian Evatt on TNT Sports: "I took over a team that has been short on victories, low on confidence, bottom of the league, with a huge injury list.

"Fortunately, it is still relatively early in the season. We are trying to implement a process. That takes time.

"The lads have given me so much everyday. We have been low on numbers.

"The strikers, for instance, have done pretty much every rep in training, played every minute. They need some help and support, but that's on the way."

  10. 'It was a great performance'published at 19:41 GMT 7 December 2025

    Blackpool 4-1 Carlisle

    Steve Thompson
BBC Radio Lancashire summariser & former Blackpool assistant manager

It was a great performance - 3-0 at half-time - but when Carlisle got a goal back, it was interesting.

It got the thousands of Carlisle fans going.

But Blackpool have got matchwinners in their side and that was the difference.

Now the club has to make sure they get up and running in the league.

  11. Non-league Boreham Wood thump Newportpublished at 19:37 GMT 7 December 2025

FT: Boreham Wood 3-0 Newport County

With only five places in the English football pyramid separating Boreham Wood and Newport County, it was no surprise that the National League side went into the tie as favourites with home advantage.

And so it proved a Wood eased past the Exiles, who sit bottom of League Two.

  12. Silkmen see off Sloughpublished at 19:33 GMT 7 December 2025

    FT: Slough 1-3 Macclesfield

A second sixth-tier side was guaranteed to join Weston-super-Mare in the third round from this tie as Slough, of National League South, faced National League North outfit Macclesfield.

It was the Silkmen who made it through for the first time since the club was re-formed - watch out for James Edmondson's stunning goal which put the Cheshire side in front in extra time.

  14. 'Carlisle almost made a fist of this'published at 19:31 GMT 7 December 2025

    Blackpool 4-1 Carlisle

    James Phillips
    BBC Radio Cumbria Sport commentator

Carlisle toyed with the idea of making a fist of this and it looked to be on after they scored early in the second half.

But when Ashley Fletcher scored Blackpool's fourth, it killed off the challenge.

Carlisle last lost on September 27. It's been 11 games since then without defeat and they shouldn't be too disheartened by this.

  15. FULL-TIMEpublished at 19:25 GMT 7 December 2025

    Blackpool 4-1 Carlisle

League One side Blackpool show their quality against high-flying National League side Carlisle United, who lose for the first time since September.

Ian Evatt's team were ruthless and clinical in attack and led 3-0 at half-time with goals from Tom Bloxham, Ashley Fletcher and Scott Banks.

Luke Armstrong gave the away team a lifeline, but they were sucker punched when Fletcher scored his second of the match.

  16. 'Peacock-Farrell has helped win the game for his side'published at 19:23 GMT 7 December 2025

    Blackpool 4-1 Carlisle

    Paul Huntington
Former Carlisle captain on BBC Radio Cumbria

Bailey Peacock-Farrell has more than played his part for his team with the saves he's made.

He has affected the game. You could argue that was the difference.

Maybe some keepers wouldn't have saved them.

  17. 'Peacock-Farrell has benefitted from game-time'published at 19:22 GMT 7 December 2025

    Blackpool 4-1 Carlisle

    Steve Thompson
BBC Radio Lancashire summariser & former Blackpool assistant manager

Bailey Peacock-Farrell has made good saves at the right times.

He may be an international keeper but everyone needs games and he's benefited from having them.

  18. CLOSE!published at 19:20 GMT 7 December 2025

    Blackpool 4-1 Carlisle

Hayden Coulson gets a yellow card after a sliding challenge, giving Carlisle a free-kick in a dangerous position.

Cameron Harper floats it in and it travels right across the face of goal, without Aaron Hayden being able to get a touch.

  19. ADDED TIMEpublished at 19:18 GMT 7 December 2025

    Blackpool 4-1 Carlisle

We have entered six minutes of additional time.

Blackpool have managed the game well in this second half.

  20. 'It would have been a bonus to win here'published at 19:17 GMT 7 December 2025

    Blackpool 4-1 Carlisle

    Paul Huntington
Former Carlisle captain on BBC Radio Cumbria

For Carlisle to have got anything from here would have been a bonus.

    It was a free hit.

If Carlisle can win on Wednesday against Woking, I'm sure this game will be quickly forgotten about.
