  1. 'A big summer ahead'published at 14:49 GMT

Tottenham v Man City (Sun, 16:30 GMT)

    Tottenham Hotspur

A final word from Tottenham manager Thomas Frank on 'a big summer ahead' in the transfer window: "If we can't find that [quality of player we are after in January] then it is definitely better to take the right decision.

"I am sure that for whatever reason if we are not able to get another player in this window then for the summer it is a big summer ahead and we will see big improvements there."

  2. Van de Ven 'touch and go' for Sunday's matchpublished at 14:47 GMT

Tottenham v Man City (Sun, 16:30 GMT)

    Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham manager Thomas Frank on the fitness of centre-back Micky van de Ven: "Micky is a minor one. It will be touch and go for Sunday. He was on the pitch yesterday, we are hoping he will be on the pitch again today. So hopeful for that, but it's touch and go."

  3. Spurs 'wanted to sign Semenyo'published at 14:45 GMT

Tottenham v Man City (Sun, 16:30 GMT)

    Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham manager Thomas Frank said the club worked hard to sign Antoine Semenyo during the January window, before he eventually moved to Manchester City.

He added that was proof of the commitment the Lewis family has to strengthening the squad:

"I can promise that the Lewis family is super committed to this project. They want to do everything.

"It was clear, there is no doubt, that the club wanted to sign [Antoine] Semenyo. They did everything and I think that is a clear signal that the Lewis family is very committed.

"That's a big signing, with finances and all that. That's the quality of players we are looking for to improve the squad."

A whole lot to cram in in the next hour or so, so hold on to your hats.

Here's Thomas Frank with some signing news - and by signing news I mean a player he wanted to sign but didn't. Sorry, Spurs fans.

  5. Villa considering Jimoh-Aloba movepublished at 14:42 GMT

Aston Villa v Brentford (Sunday, 14:00 GMT)

    Nick Mashiter
    BBC Sport football news reporter

Aston Villa are considering the immediate future of Jamaldeen Jimoh-Aloba after his European goalscoring heroics.

The 19-year-old scored his first senior goal to cap Villa's comeback from 2-0 down as they beat Red Bull Salzburg 3-2 in the Europa League on Thursday.

West Bromwich Albion are keen to take the attacker to The Hawthorns on loan but other clubs have now registered their interest.

Striker Ollie Watkins is being assed and has had a scan on the hamstring injury which forced him off in the first half against Salzburg.

Boss Unai Emery is confident the initial scan has not given Villa "bad information" but Watkins' situation - and his European impact - could have a bearing on whether Jimoh-Aloba is allowed on loan before Monday's deadline.

Jimoh-Aloba came through the Baggies' academy and joined Villa from Albion in 2023 with new boss Eric Ramsay looking for reinforcements as they sit three points above the Championship relegation zone.

What is going on at my club? FA Cup winners with no ambition. Every season is about survival. How can we sign anybody decent when the manger is leaving and everyone else wants to leave? Parish, leave the new stand, It won’t be needed potentially playing championship football next season.

Crystal Palace's France striker Jean-Philippe Mateta has scored 12 goals in 37 appearances for club and country this season.

He is Palace's leading scorer with 10 goals in all competitions, but has not found the net since opening the scoring in a 1-1 draw at home to Fulham on New Year's Day.

Mateta is without a goal in his last four appearances for Palace, and was subbed off with five minutes to play of their last league game on Saturday - a 3-1 defeat at home to Chelsea.

  8. AC Milan accelerate their interest in Matetapublished at 14:35 GMT

    Sami Mokbel
    BBC Sport Senior football correspondent

AC Milan have accelerated their interest in Crystal Palace striker Jean-Philippe Mateta and want to complete a deal before Monday's transfer deadline (19:00 GMT).

The Serie A giants initially enquired earlier in January.

Juventus have also registered an interest but couldn’t agree a deal with Palace, who want £40m for Mateta.

Mateta also has Premier League suitors. Nottingham Forest had a £35m bid rejected on Saturday and have kept trying this week, but accept a deal could not happen now before Sunday's game against Palace.

As a QPR fan, I think Palace fans need to realise how good they have it. To be in a position where your club is making these transfers and competing at this level is very fortunate, and Rangers should be an example of how quickly it can disappear.

  10. 'Mateta needs to play better' to gain World Cup selection - Glasnerpublished at 14:30 GMT

Nottingham Forest v Crystal Palace (Sun, 14:00 GMT)

    Crystal Palace

Finally from Crystal Palace manager Oliver Glasner, on Jean-Philippe Mateta: "I know when JP stays he will be highly motivated because he has a big dream to play for France at the World Cup.

"Therefore, he needs to perform, and he needs to play better than he has played in the last few weeks. That is what he knows.

"Right now, it is tricky, but I am pretty sure 2 February, when the window closes, everybody has the same goal for a successful season. The individual goal for every player, they want to play for their country at the World Cup.

"That is why I can still sleep well."

  11. 'Negative consequence of success' - Glasnerpublished at 14:28 GMT

Nottingham Forest v Crystal Palace (Sun, 14:00 GMT)

    Crystal Palace

More from Crystal Palace manager Oliver Glasner on Crystal Palace transfer issues: "I spoke about it months ago. This is maybe the negative consequence of success. Players want to leave and want to play for bigger clubs, bigger money, have their own future. This is what Palace and we are facing right now."

  12. 'It is a challenging situation'published at 14:25 GMT

Nottingham Forest v Crystal Palace (Sun, 14:00 GMT)

    Crystal Palace

More from Crystal Palace manager Oliver Glasner on Crystal Palace transfer issues: "To be honest, it looks like the entire year, especially in summer, and right now it is not the easiest way to deal with for the group and for everyone.

"So much noise, so many players leaving and leaving on deadline day or the day before and all this noise around us. Yes, it is really challenging. Challenging for the players and I can't praise them enough. I see how hard they are working the whole week and how they're dealing with these circumstances."We will travel tomorrow with 13 on-field players, plus Kaden Rodney from our academy. Nobody is complaining. We will be able to win with this group of players at Nottingham. It is a challenging situation."

  14. 'The club is working almost 24 hours a day right now'published at 14:19 GMT

Nottingham Forest v Crystal Palace (Sun, 14:00 GMT)

    Crystal Palace

Crystal Palace manager Oliver Glasner on the plans in place at the club for the remainder of the transfer window: "The club is working almost 24 hours a day right now.

"Marc [Guehi] left two weeks ago and nobody is in. You can imagine it is not so easy - every team wants to play a successful season, so it is not so easy that you can get the players at the end of January. I see the club working hard to get players in to replace Marc and, of course, we have to prepare if something happens with JP.

"Again, to be clear, it can be that JP stays, and he is a Palace player on 2 February, and it can be that JP has left the club and a new striker is in.

"These are the two situations we are talking about and discussing right now."

  15. 'Mateta can't help the team and perform at his top level'published at 14:16 GMT

Nottingham Forest v Crystal Palace (Sun, 14:00 GMT)

    Crystal Palace

More from Crystal Palace boss Oliver Glasner on Jean-Philippe Mateta: "Again, there is so much noise, so much speculation, so many things going on. We need every single player at their best and JP isn't at his best right now with all the noise that happens.

"It can be football noise, but if someone has private issues where they can't focus on football, then it makes no sense to play. He can't help the team and perform at his top level. We decided it is better not to play him."

Crystal Palace boss Oliver Glasner on Jean-Philippe Mateta's availability: "First of all today, I am considering there will be many transfer questions.

"We will talk about things we can confirm. I can confirm JP will not be in the matchday squad, but it is nothing to do right now with the transfers. He is not in the place.

"To play makes no sense. We have to protect the team and I have to protect him.

"That is why he will not travel with us to Nottingham."

Man Utd v Fulham (Sun, 14:00 GMT)

    Manchester United

Man Utd head coach Michael Carrick on struggling for form at Old Trafford: "I think ultimately consistency is the key to success and in my eyes it is one of the most difficult things to achieve, to be good consistently.

"It takes so much, to be able to cope emotionally with the ups and downs of this game. That is what we are working towards. We have had a great couple of weeks, two good results, big games coming up and it is about keeping the mind in the right place."
