  3. Rangers leave it late to snatch point at Glasgow Citypublished at 19:11 GMT 25 January

    Glasgow City 1-1 Rangers

Rangers came from behind to hold league leaders Glasgow City to a 1-1 draw at Petershill Park.

As a result Celtic move up to second, thanks to their win over Montrose, and are five points behind City following the draw in Glasgow.

A solid stop from Lee Gibson denied Calliste Brookshire who was one-on-one with the City keeper after she intercepted a slack pass from City centre-back Emma Brownlie in the early stages.

Rangers goalkeeper Jenna Fife was also forced into a save early on as she gets a foot in the way of Nicole Kozlova's effort from close range.

Gibson was called into action to deny a Rangers chance at one end before City broke up the other and scored when Laura Raffery turned the ball into her own net trying to clear Lisa Forrest's low cross.

Laura Berry thought she'd dragged Rangers level right on the stroke of half-time but the flag was immediately raised for offside on the Rangers striker.

The visitors went close to pulling a goal back but Gibson pulled off an impressive save on the stretch to keep out Laura Berry's lofted shot.

Linda Motlhalo almost added a second but her strike from the edge of the box was well caught by Fife and the Rangers keeper had to deny City again as she parried away Kozlova's strike at the near post.

Rangers found the equaliser with just over five minutes to play at Petershill Park when Brookshire's looping effort dipped behind Gibson and into the back of the net.

Leanne Crichton's side drop to third and are only one point ahead of Hearts, who have a game in hand, after their win at home to Partick Thistle.

    Hearts 4-0 Partick Thistle

Hearts keep pace with the top three in the SWPL title race with a 4-0 victory over Partick Thistle.

After Rangers' draw at Glasgow City, Hearts remain fourth in the table but they're only a point behind Leanne Crichton's side with a game in hand.

After scoring 19 goals in the Scottish Cup last weekend, Hearts failed to find the back of the net in the first half at Oriam despite their eight shots, four of which were on target.

However, it took just two minutes of the second half for Eva Olid's side to find the breakthrough. Striker Georgia Timms cut the ball back for Carly Johns who fired home from close range.

Sade Adamolekun doubled the hosts advantage with 20 minutes to play in Edinburgh. Hearts added a third through Timms and Monica Forsyth found a fourth in injury time.

Thistle remain seventh in the table, still joint on points with Motherwell below them and only one ahead of Aberdeen after their victory over Iain Robinson's side.

  5. Celtic edge Montrose in tight contest at New Douglas Parkpublished at 15:35 GMT 25 January

    Celtic 1-0 Montrose

Celtic moved up to second in the SWPL with a narrow 1-0 win over Montrose.

Grant Scott's side leapfrogged Rangers in the top flight table following their 1-1 draw at Glasgow City.

The result leaves Celtic five points off the top and two points ahead of Rangers below them.

Maria McAneny's 60th minute strike was enough to secure the victory and make it three wins from three games for manager Grant Scott.

Montrose, who have already taken points off champions Hibs this season, put up a stern fight but Celtic ultimately managed to get the job done.

Craig Feroz's side remain in the top six despite the defeat.

  6. Hibs ease aside Hamilton Accies to give Murray first win as head coachpublished at 15:25 GMT 25 January

    Hibernian 5-0 Hamilton Accies

Joelle Murray picked up her first win as Hibernian head coach with a comfortable 5-0 win over SWPL strugglers Hamilton Accies.

Midfielder Ciara Grant got Hibs up and running at Meadowbank when she found the back of the net after just nine minutes.

Goals from Eilidh Adams and Rachael Boyle put Murray's side 3-0 up at the break.

A second from Adams was added to by Rosie Livingstone in the second 45 at Meadowbank and Accies couldn't find a response.

The result leaves Robert Watson's side rock bottom of the SWPL with just one point and still without a win in 15 games.

Hibs remain fifth in the table and keep pressure on the teams around them with another important three points in their quest to defend the title.

  7. Aberdeen close gap to Motherwell with narrow winpublished at 15:14 GMT 25 January

    Aberdeen 2-1 Motherwell

Aberdeen moved a point behind Motherwell in the SWPL with a 2-1 win over Iain Robinson's side.

Hannah Stewart struck first for the Dons, after hitting the crossbar the captain made no mistake with the rebound.

Carla Boyce levelled for Motherwell just two minutes into the second half at Balmoral Stadium.

Mya Christie stepped up with what would turn out to be the winning goal for Scott Booth's side in the 85th minute when she smashed in from range.

The result leaves the Dons second bottom of the table, but they're only a point behind Motherwell above them.
