If Japan can play technical, pressing football and cope with the physicality of Scotland and England, then they're in with a good shot to really challenge this year. Especially if you throw in the confidence that wins against England and Brazil bring.

The best chances England have had in this game have been from set-plays.

We've been talking about the Premier League's prowess from them and it's come to fruition tonight. They've not created much from open play.

It's taken 82 minutes for England to realise they're too small and lightweight in attack. Surely an appropriate line up could have been selected. Maguire has an attempt on goal immediately with his height and strength.

Maguire is so strong in those positions. He didn't even jump for that, just held the guy off.

Defensively and attacking in those positions he is so valuable. Not many people beat him in the air.

Harry Maguire has posed more of a threat in the last four or five minutes he has been on the pitch than Phil Foden and Cole Palmer managed.

I think the FA have extended Tuchel's contract far too early. Why not wait to see how he performs in a tournament? At the moment my confidence in our chances is not very high.

There were a lot of Japanese players in between Marcus Rashford and the goalkeeper.

It's getting better from England. You can see there's a bit of urgency. There's some jeopardy in it and they have some personal pride not to lose this game.

England have looked better with Dominic Solanke on the field. They've looked better with a system they're used to. Solanke has been a focal point to take the attention of the defenders away.
