  4. 'It makes no sense to put players in cotton wool'published at 14:37 BST

West Ham v Leeds (Sun, 16:30 BST)

    Leeds United

By the way, Leeds manager Daniel Farke spoke yesterday ahead of Sunday's FA Cup game against West Ham.

    Here's what he said:

    • He started off with some team news, confirming that Anton Stach has been struggling with some hip issue but was back training.
    • Dominic Calvert-Lewin is in doubt after finishing training training early because of a hamstring problem: "Hopefully it's minor. During training he felt something. We decided to scan him as a precaution. Hopefully he's back tomorrow but can't say if he's available for West Ham."
    • On selection dilemmas when balancing the Premier League and the FA Cup: "The Premier League is our bread and butter and is our priority. But I'm a big believer in cup competitions and we're at this stage for first time in more than two decades. It makes no sense to put players in cotton wool. They need to stay in their rhythm. We want to go with a strong line up... an FA Cup win would write a chapter in history."
    • On Brendon Aaronson: "I'm pretty happy with Brenden. If you look at his objective data, even when subbed in, it's top. His point average when starting is pretty good. His workrate is never in doubt and I like his attitude." but added that "there is competition" for that number ten spot, "Players like Daniel James, Willy Gnonto, Noah Okafor and Fucundo Buonanotte all competing for minutes."
