Charlton Athletic have signed defender Jayden Fevrier on loan from Stockport County until the end of the season and goalkeeper Tiernan Brooks from Gateshead on a permanent deal.

Fevrier, 22, can operate either as a wing-back or as a winger and is suited to head coach Nathan Jones' favoured formation of three central defenders and two wing-backs.

He made 28 appearances in all competitions during the first half of this season for Stockport, scoring twice.

The signing comes on the same day as Charlton's former Stockport striker Tanto Olaofe moved back to Edgeley Park, also on a loan deal until the end of the season.

Fevrier began his career at West Ham before moving to Colchester United in 2022 and was named as the club's young player of the year in his second season.

"The manager wants me to come in and play my game, take the ball up the pitch, excite people, be me, and I'm excited as I have the opportunity to play in the Championship," Fevrier told Charlton's website., external

Meanwhile, Brooks, 23, has arrived for an undisclosed fee and agreed a two-and-a-half year deal, with a club option of a further year.

The former Republic of Ireland Under-21 international began his professional career at Notts County and, after several loan spells, moved to Gateshead in 2024 where he established himself as the club's first-choice goalkeeper.

Brooks replaces outgoing back-up keeper Ashley Maynard-Brewer - who has departed for Dundee United on a permanent deal - and is likely to rival Will Mannion for the number two spot, behind regular first-choice Thomas Kaminski.

"I'm buzzing it's finally over the line and I really can't wait to get going - I came to The Valley when I was younger to watch Charlton play Sheffield Wednesday and it's a beautiful stadium," Brooks told the club website., external

The arrivals of Fevrier and Brooks take Charlton's acquisitions in this month's window up to five following the signings of Harry Clarke,Lyndon Dykes and Luke Chambers.
