Charlton Athletic have signed Ipswich Town defender Harry Clarke on loan until the end of the season.

The 24-year-old has made 67 appearances for the Tractor Boys since returning to his boyhood club from Arsenal in January 2023.

Clarke made 35 Championship appearances as Kieran McKenna's side won promotion to the Premier League in 2023-24, playing seven times in the top tier before joining Sheffield United on loan.

"The main thing for me was the manager [Nathan Jones]. I spoke to him and I got that feeling of being really wanted at a place straight away," he told the club's website., external

"Not many teams have come to Portman Road this season and won convincingly which Charlton did, so they're the appealing factors."

Charlton, who won 3-0 at Ipswich in October, currently sit 19th in the Championship table with 29 points, without a win in four games.

Ipswich have moved up to third with five wins from their last seven games and will leapfrog Middlesbrough into the automatic promotion places if they were to win their game in hand.
