Aberdeen v Motherwell postponed after heavy rain

The Pittodrie pitch on Wednesday

Aberdeen's Scottish Cup fifth-round tie with Motherwell on Saturday evening has been postponed until Wednesday, 18 February because of a waterlogged pitch.
Motherwell said: "All match tickets purchased will be valid for the rearranged fixture." Aberdeen said: "Ticket information will be communicated in due course."
The cup tie is the second evening fixture at Pittodrie this week to be called off, with the Dons' midweek Premiership game against Celtic also falling victim to heavy rain in the north east. That match has been rearranged for Wednesday, 4 March.
Seven other Scottish Cup ties are scheduled across Friday, Saturday and Sunday, with no current weather concerns over those matches.

Motherwell 'appreciate transparency and proactiveness'
Earlier this week, Celtic approached the Scottish Professional Football League to question whether the correct process was followed over the postponement of their league game at Aberdeen.
The Premiership fixture was called off at 16:20 GMT on Wednesday - fewer than four hours before kick-off.
On the latest postponement against Motherwell, Aberdeen said: "A match official carried out an assessment at 2pm today and given the current condition of the pitch, and with no prospect of improved weather in the next 24 hours, an early decision has been taken to postpone tomorrow's Scottish Cup tie.
"Following the postponement of the Celtic match earlier this week, the ground staff and maintenance teams at Pittodrie have been working tirelessly to get the pitch in playable condition, however, the unprecedented and continuous rainfall has made it an almost impossible task to repair the problem area in front of the Merkland goal.
"We apologise to supporters for the inconvenience."
And Motherwell commented: "A match official inspected the Pittodrie surface and deemed the pitch not playable at this time.
"With continued rainfall expected between now and kick off in Aberdeen, an early decision has been made to ensure the 1,100 Motherwell supporters do not begin travel to Aberdeen, as well as the Motherwell squad.
"Whilst we remain disappointed at the match not taking place tomorrow night, we appreciate the transparency and proactiveness of all parties during this process."
