Reading FC have filed their annual accounts from the 2024-25 League One season, recording an overall loss of £3.8m.
The club's initial losses of over £13m were reduced by £9.5m worth of player sales, up from the £3.9m in sales that they made the year prior.
During that season some of the significant sales included Sam Smith to Wrexham, Femi Azeez to Millwall, Tyler Bindon to Sheffield United and a sell-on clause for ex-player Michael Olise who was involved in a big-money move from Crystal Palace to Bayern Munich.
The club's overall revenue for the year went down by 2% to £9.8m while the wage bill was reduced by 22% to £12.4m.
Reading confirmed that despite the significant reduction in the overall wage bill, the total expense was 127% of the total club revenue with the average first-team player earning £5,900 per week.
During this season, the club was still under a transfer embargo which limited their spending to £0 on player signings.
Reading's borrowings across the period came to £11.4m while their total borrowings is now £130.6m.
During this season, the Royals managed a seventh-place finish in League One and towards the end of it completed a takeover with new owner Rob Couhig purchasing the club from Dai Yongge.
