National League side Wealdstone have appointed former QPR and Wycombe boss Gary Waddock as their new manager on a two-and-a-half-year deal.
Waddock, who grew up in north-west London and played for QPR, Millwall and Luton, succeeds Sam Cox who was dismissed earlier this week.
The 63-year-old had been working as assistant head coach at Walsall for the last two-and-a-half years.
Previously, Waddock spent eight months as Rangers manager before going on to lead Aldershot Town into the EFL in 2008, and then gaining promotion to League One with Wycombe three years later.
His most recent managerial role was a second stint at Aldershot, which ended in 2019, and he has since coached at Southend and Cambridge before joining the Saddlers.
"Gary's hungry to get back to management and we're delighted to have secured his experience to lead our ambitious club," said Stones chairman Rory Fitzgerald, external.
"We feel it's exactly what we need right now to gain the maximum return from our dedicated playing squad."
Wealdstone, who are 14th in the table, are in FA Trophy quarter-final action on Saturday, away to Kidderminster.
