Table-topping Norwich City will not be getting ahead of themselves as they look to secure promotion to the third tier of the women's game.
The Canaries moved two points clear at the half-way stage of Women's National League Division One South East with Sunday's 1-0 win over Dulwich Hamlet.
Only the champions go up from the division and Norwich missed out last season when they finished second behind Real Bedford.
"We were sixth or seventh this time last year, so to be top of the league is fantastic, but there's been a hell of a lot of work gone into getting us to this point," Cook told BBC Radio Norfolk.
"It shouldn't be discounted how well we've played in 2025. We've got one more game left in the year and the whole squad has been absolutely superb.
"I just shout at them a little bit and cajole them now and again when they need it."
Norwich left it late to seal their 10th win in 11 league games, Grace Riglar converting a stoppage-time penalty following a foul on Eloise King with the game still goalless.
But closest rivals Fulham, who they lost to back in August, have a game in hand following the London club's postponement at Luton Town on Sunday, so the return game at The Nest on 8 February could be crucial to the outcome of the season.
"We're taking it game by game really. We know exactly what we want to achieve this season and if we can keep scoring goals and keeping clean sheets - I don't know how many that is now - then hopefully good things will happen," said City full-back Millie Daviss.
Norwich are away to mid-table Actonians on Sunday and Daviss is expecting another tough test.
"They've played us before this season so they'll know what we're about and what we want to do. They may combat that in a certain way and we need to figure out how to get round that," Daviss added.
