Derby County have signed Dutch forward Jaydon Banel from Burnley on loan until the end of the season.

The 21-year-old came through the youth system at Ajax and joined the Clarets from the Amsterdam club on transfer deadline day in February 2025.

He has made five first-team appearances in his first 12 months at Turf Moor and scored his first senior goal for the Premier League club in their 5-1 thrashing of Championship side Millwall in the FA Cup earlier in January.

Derby boss John Eustace said that when Banel came off the bench for Burnley in their Carabao Cup win against Derby in August, the forward grabbed his attention.

"He is a young, exciting player and he has a point to prove," Eustace told BBC Radio Derby.

"He is very hungry and wants to do well. To leave a Premier League club at this stage to come to a Championship team shows his ambition to really showcase himself."

Banel will be available for Derby in Friday's trip to Bristol City.
