Gilliead to stay at Carlisle for rest of season

Carlisle United have extended the loan of midfielder Alex Gilliead until the end of the season.
Gilliead, 29, initially joined on a loan deal from Shrewsbury Town until 11 January, but he will complete the campaign at Brunton Park.
He has featured in 23 games for Carlisle this season as they sit top of the National League.
Gilliead's extension comes one day after the permanent arrival of defender Ryan Galvin from Barnet.
