Ajax have signed Arsenal's Oleksandr Zinchenko after the defender's season-long loan with Nottingham Forest was brought to an early end.

The 29-year-old's contract with the Dutch club will run until June.

No details regarding a transfer fee have been disclosed.

The Ukraine international had been with the Gunners since July 2022 and played 91 times across three seasons before his spell with Forest, which began in September.

He had previously played for Manchester City but also has Eredivisie experience having been loaned to PSV during the 2016-17 season.

Ajax's director of football, Marijn Beuker, said Zinchenko would give the Amsterdam side "an immediate quality boost in the pursuit of Champions League football".

He added: "As a left-back, he is tactically strong, provides defensive stability and fits perfectly with our way of playing."
