Captain Lucy Graham scored twice as Everton began their Women's Super League campaign with a convincing win at Bristol City.
After Nicoline Sorensen had flashed an early header wide for the visitors, Graham set up the opener for Simone Magill to slot into the corner.
Graham netted Everton's second on the counter and fired home the third from the spot after Magill was brought down.
France striker Valerie Gauvin also scored late on to complete the victory.
It was an impressive start by the Toffees, who are hoping to build on last season's sixth place after strengthening their squad with the arrivals of Sorenson and Gauvin, and the return to fitness of England midfielder Izzy Christiansen.
Indeed, Gauvin had earlier only been denied a debut goal within minutes of coming on as a substitute by a fine save from home goalkeeper Sophie Baggaley.
Bristol City, who face champions Chelsea next weekend, had their moments, with Aimee Palmer whistling a free-kick over the bar, Charlie Wellings skidding a shot wide, and Carla Humphrey, Jemma Purfield and Ebony Salmon all forcing saves out of Everton keeper Sandy MacIver.
