Women's Super League: Tottenham Hotspur 1-1 West Ham

A superbly taken solo goal from Adriana Leon earned West Ham a draw against Tottenham at The Hive in their Women's Super League season opener.

Kit Graham twice struck the woodwork for Tottenham before the break, steering a header onto the bar before hitting the frame from distance.

Spurs were gifted a second-half lead as Grace Fisk headed into her own net.

A fine run and finish from Leon earned the Hammers a point, with Rugby Grant then wasting a late chance to win it.

Spurs, who finished seventh in their first season in the WSL last term, were only kept at bay by the woodwork early on as Graham was foiled twice in three minutes.

Hammers goalkeeper Mackenzie Arnold did well to save from Angela Addison after the break, but from the ensuing corner Fisk inadvertently gave the hosts the lead.

While West Ham rarely threatened before going behind, Leon produced the best moment of the game soon after to level, cutting in from the left between two defenders before curling her finish into the top corner.

Both sides pressed for a winner, but struggled to create a clear-cut chance before Grant fired wastefully wide in the final seconds.
