Tyrone Mings was excellent but Aston Villa haven't kept a clean sheet on the road in all competitions in their last 17 games, last doing so against Bolton Wanderers in April 2019.

It was always going to be a night for solid defending as Aston Villa travelled to high-flying Leicester without a striker - and Tyrone Mings and Orjan Nyland stepped up.

England international Mings was immense at the heart of a back three in the first leg of their Carabao Cup semi-final.

Goalkeeper Nyland made a string of saves in the second half to deny the Foxes in a 1-1 draw - and set up the second leg nicely at Villa Park on 28 January.

Mings - with a rating of 7.64 - was your star man while Nyland collected 7.47, with Leicester's goalscoring substitute Kelechi Iheanacho the highest-rated home player on 6.97.
