Chesterfield 1-3 Maidenhead United

Herson Alves emerged from the shadows of the Maidenhead ranks as a new star in his side's exciting 3-1 win at Chesterfield.

The Magpies edged ahead early on when James Akintunde released the nippy Portuguese, who rounded Shwan Jalal before slotting home.

Born in Gibraltar, Herson found a similar finish in first-half stoppage time.

The Spireites pulled one back from the penalty spot through veteran Marc-Antoine Fortune, but within a couple of minutes Ryan Upward capitalised quickly on a dropped cross by Jalal to score from close-range.

The home side offered little resistance as their miserable run extended to 10 without a win.
