Solihull Moors 1-0 Wrexham

Wrexham suffered their first league defeat under new boss Sam Ricketts as they lost 1-0 away to Solihull Moors.

In a game of few opportunities it was the hosts who took their chance with just 10 minutes remaining.

Alex Gudger, on his first start after recovering from a head injury, was on the end of the Moors' late free-kick to head the ball past Rob Lainton.

Victory sees Solihull rise up to fifth whilst Wrexham drop to second behind new league leaders FC Halifax Town.

Wrexham manager Sam Ricketts told BBC Radio Wales:

"The players are hugely disappointed and rightly so. You don't ever want to lose a game and we came here to win it.

"You can't win every game, you get knocked down and you have to keep getting up again.

"But I would have taken 14 points from the first seven games of the season... which is a great achievement."
