FC Halifax Town 3-0 Maidstone United

  • Published

Halifax moved top of the National League thanks to a comfortable win over Maidstone.

Cameron King opened the scoring for Halifax before the break after the hosts enjoyed a period of dominance.

The midfielder claimed the goal after the ball took a wicked deflection to beat Maidstone keeper Lee Worgan.

Halifax doubled their lead early in the second half when Ben Tomlinson rifled the ball in at the near post.

And the Shaymen put the game out of Maidstone's reach when Dayle Southwell slotted a calm and composed penalty after Jonathan Edwards was fouled by Jordan Wynter.
