Manager Dean Keates has now led Wrexham to 13 league victories this season
Chris Holroyd revitalised Wrexham's promotion push with a hat-trick as they brushed aside bottom club Torquay.
The forward opened the scoring by heading home Marcus Kelly's in-swinging corner and claimed his second following a dazzling Paul Rutherford run.
In between those goals Manny Smith had added Wrexham's second, connecting with a powerful header after a free-kick.
Holroyd added his third goal late on with a penalty after referee Karl Evans spotted a Torquay handball.
Sean McGinty came closest for Torquay but saw his shot saved brilliantly by Chris Dunn.
Wrexham manager Dean Keates told BBC Radio Wales: "It was our biggest win of the season... it was nice to get the four goals but it was about getting the three points.
"Chrissie (Holroyd) is a delight, he's a great pro. I brought him in and I knew he was going to score goals.
"He's very intelligent, he's adapted a little bit as we've asked him to play in a bit of a different position and he's gone about his business.
"It just shows what kind of a pro he is and he's not moaned, he's played on the left and ended up in good areas and today he's got his reward."
