Kwame Thomas netted on his debut to ensure Mark Yates started life as Solihull Moors boss with a draw against high-flying Maidstone.
Yates, who was appointed successor to Richard Money earlier this week, saw his side start in terrible fashion as Joe Pigott's ninth goal of the season arrived after just 42 seconds.
Pigott took advantage of a poor Fiacre Kelleher back pass and chipped the ball over Nick Townsend.
But on-loan Coventry striker Thomas salvaged a draw in the 64th minute as he made no mistake from close range after Lee Worgan parried Akwasi Asante's shot into his path, moving Solihull off the bottom of the table.
