Solihull Moors 0-2 Sutton United

  • Published

Sutton remained fourth in the National League after goals from Ross Lafayette and Craig Dundas earned them victory at rock-bottom Solihull.

Sutton, looking for a win having drawn five of their previous six matches, were quickly on top and looked to have taken a fifth-minute lead only for Dundas to see his header ruled out.

There was no denying Lafayette, though, the much-travelled striker making the most of a poor clearance by Solihull goalkeeper Nick Townsend to rifle the visitors in front.

Townsend prevented Lafayette and Dundas netting further goals before the break, but Solihull also came agonisingly close to an equaliser when George Carline's header came back off the woodwork.

Darren Carter spurned a chance to level after the break, while Sutton saw Kieron Cadogan denied by Townsend and Lafayette fire over before Dundas wrapped things up with four minutes to go after latching on to a long ball.
