Trinity Shield: Grouville reach final after victory over St Saviour

Grouville's victory in January was their first for 85 years

Reigning champions Grouville progressed to the Trinity Shield final after a 4-2 win over St Saviour at Les Quennevais.

Kamen Nafkha gave them a sixth minute lead before Charlie Petulla's penalty doubled the advantage.

Craig Leitch pulled one back for St Saviour soon after half-time, but the two-goal lead was restored by Charlie Payn with 20 minutes to go.

Dominic Pougelle scored St Savour's second before Petulla converted a second penalty in stoppage time.

Grouville will face St Brelade in the final at Springfield on Tuesday 6 January.

The eastern parish side had not won the tournament for 85 years before taking the title last season.

St Brelade, who have won the title 16 times, have not made the final since 2012, when they lost to St Ouen.
