Gateshead moved to within a point of the play-off places with a convincing win against bottom side Hyde.

Marcus Maddison put the hosts ahead early a with neat far-post finish while keeper Adam Bartlett protected the half-time lead by denying Liam Tomsett.

Hyde keeper Lawrence Vigouroux denied James Brown once before the forward added a second for the hosts.

Liam Hatch made it 3-0 from the edge of the area before Jamie Chandler completed the scoring from 10 yards.

Victory ends Gateshead's run of four Conference Premier games without a win, moving them to eighth in the table with two games in hand on Halifax in fifth.
