Pakistan spinners came to the fore again today.

But none was more impressive than their off-spinner Usman Tariq.

  4. 'My hard work in domestic cricket has paid off'published at 12:53 GMT

Pakistan's Sahibzada Farhan: "I have played four years of domestic cricket continuously. I don't think I've even missed a game in the last four years. My hard work in what I was doing in domestic cricket in Pakistan has paid off.

"The start on this wicket wasn't easy. I told my captain as well that we will play normal cricket and then play our game. I was confident that I can set a big target for the team if we got through the early stages.

"We lost a couple of wickets in quick succession. The idea was to build a partnership before I could take charge."

Depending on how they have truly come back from their performance against India, this result will give them a bit of confidence.

I don't think it will change their whole mindset though because they have to perform well against the top sides, like England, New Zealand and South Africa. They have a lot of big hurdles to climb in this tournament still.

It isn't going to be an easy road for Pakistan, even after this performance.

Pakistan book their berth in the Super 8s of the T20 World Cup with a big win against Namibia.

They've done well to bounce back from that defeat by India and their spinners are definitely going to pose some threat when they come against some of the tournament favourites in the next stage.

  7. Namibia reviewpublished at 17.3 overs

    Nam 97-9 | 103 needed off 15 balls

Usman Tariq has a fourth wicket as Willem Myburgh nicks one to wicketkeeper Usman Khan.

But Namibia will review this - just to delay the inevitable.

I don't understand why the batters are trying to defend every ball when they need over 100 runs.

If they want to do that, they might as well play shots like these so Pakistan finish it off quickly...

Now, Usman Tariq has his third wicket.

He has bowled Bernard Scholtz through the gates, knocking back the middle stump - a wonderful sight!

    That was a brilliant take!

It is never easy when the ball is coming at that pace and you have to dive forward plus hold on to it without it touching the ground.

  11. Nam 96-8published at 17 overs

    104 needed off 18 balls

A wicket and two runs off that over as Shabad Khan finishes with 3-19.

That's a brilliant catch from Saim Ayub at deep backward square.

He has to dive forward to scoop up the ball before it touched the ground and inevitably, there is a review to check if he has done it cleanly - he definitely has!

Zane Green departs for seven and Shadab Khan has his third wicket of the day.

This innings has been very slow for Namibia. They should just try and go for it now with just four overs remaining.

There is no point just totting your score up and getting those ones and twos now. You might as well get bowled over.

Namibia run THREE THREES in Usman Tariq's THIRD over.

He concedes 11 runs from that over - expensive by his standards.

Pakistan have definitely qualified now - but it is always the question of qualifying number one or number two and so on because that determines who you play in the Super 8s.

  16. Nam 83-7published at 15 overs

    117 needed off 30 balls

Mohammad Nawaz gives away only two runs in his final over, but doesn't get his second wicket - which he looked desperate for with that review.

The Pakistan left-arm spinner finishes with 1-22.

  17. Pakistan reviewpublished at 14.4 overs

    Nam 82-7 | 118 needed off 32 balls

    A wasted review from Pakistan!

WP Myburgh has middles his defence but bowler Mohammad Nawaz thinks it's pad first and goes for the review.

TV umpire Kumar Dharmasena doesn't need many replays to ask the field umpire to stay with his decision - which is not out.

  18. Nam 81-7published at 14 overs

    119 needed off 36 balls

What an over from Usman Tariq - a two-wicket maiden!

That's a beautiful delivery! The variation alone is so subtle.

Ruben Trumpelmann had absolutely no clue what was happening. He pulls a bit of a smile and a shake of the head before heading back to the pavillion.

Very, very well bowled from Pakistan.

Usman Tariq has not only got a unique bowling action, he's got a trademark celebration too!

After clattering the stumps of Ruben Trumpelmann with a quicker googly, he bows down to the departing batter as if offering a cheeky “thank you” to his latest victim.
