  1. Bye for nowpublished at 13:12 GMT

It's all gone to plan for Australia in their opener as they brushed aside the challenge of Ireland in Colombo.

The Aussies are back in Group B action on Friday with Zimbabwe their opponents.

It's now two defeats from two games for Ireland and they face a big task to make the Super 8s as they prepare to meet Oman on Saturday.

We hope you enjoyed our coverage but that's all from us for now.

    Thanks for your company.

Australia are a team who always seem to find a way to win. They got bogged down against Ireland's spinners but got enough runs on the board before their bowlers closed it out.

A dominant display by Australia. A total of 182 always felt like a tough ask for Ireland.

    Breaking

Barry McCarthy is caught by Cameron Green on the boundary - the injured Paul Stirling is not coming out so it's match over and Australia win by 67 runs.

Take a bow Nathan Ellis, who finishes with 4-12 from 3.5 overs.

Clever bowling from Adam Zampa. He knew that George Dockrell was going to come down the pitch and he pushed it wider and Josh Inglis did everything right behind the stumps.

    M Adair c Connolly 12 b Zampa 12 (Ire 111-8)

Two wickets in three balls for Adam Zampa as Mark Adair sends it high but short and Cooper Connolly takes another catch at the boundary.

George Dockrell is batting for a little bit of Irish pride and will hope he can get himself a World Cup half-century.

George Dockrell with another excellent shot straight down the ground.

I think the most galling thing from an Irish perspective is they have dropped 10 catches in the last two games. The fielding has slipped in recent times when it's been area which is traditionally strong.

Ireland's prep to the World Cup has been good but we're beginning to see the affects of the rhythm of playing international matches, or rather a lack of them.

  13. Ire 90-6published at 14 overs

Adam Zampa picks up his first wicket and Ireland's woes continue.

It was a googly to be hit. Lorcan Tucker didn't quite time it well enough and it came off the toe of the bat. Adam Zampa gave it flight but with scoreboard pressure and to the big boundary Tucker perishes.

  15. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 13.4 overs

    Tucker c Connolly b Zampa 24 (Ire 89-6)

A partnership of 46 ends as Lorcan Tucker gets under an Adam Zapper delivery and it falls nicely for Cooper Connolly just inside the boundary.

  16. Ire 87-5published at 13 overs

Ireland have recovered well after that clatter of wickets but it looks like they've given themselves too much to do.

It's not the first time George Dockrell has done that today. I don't think he got hold of all of that, but has managed to get it over the rope.

  18. 6 runs

    Ire 87-5published at 12.5 overs

George Dockrell unloads on a short Matt Kuhnemann delivery and it clears the ropes.

Ireland are just starting to up the pace a little. They need to with the required rate over 12 runs an over.

George Dockrell belts Xavier Bartlett for four as Ireland enjoy a 10-run over.
