Another superbly entertaining round in the County Championship comes to a close.

That game at Cardiff could well be one of the games of this season. An incredible turnaround by Glamorgan, who are suddenly up to fifth and 11 points off the top! 1997 anyone?

Elsewhere, the big clash between Notts and Surrey rather failed to deliver, with a high-scoring draw and big runs for Ben Duckett.

Warwickshire thumped Yorkshire and go second while Sussex are in fourth after beating winless Leicestershire. Hampshire stay at the bottom after defeat at Essex.

In Division Two, Ben Stokes returned to help Durham stay top of the table with victory at Worcestershire. Middlesex are second having won impressively at Lancashire.

Kent squeezed home against Gloucestershire, who prop up the table, and Derbyshire eventually overcame Northants for a first win of the season.

The next round of County Championship games begins on Friday morning and we'll see you back here then to enjoy it all together again.

    Breaking

    Glos 325 & 262 v Kent 327 & 261-8

James Taylor's calm head gets Kent over the line with a boundary off Will Williams!

Quite a Kent debut for Taylor, who took 6-52 in Gloucestershire's first innings and then struck the winning four in such a tense situation.

It's back-to-back victories for Kent now.

England-wise, glad Duckett made big runs, but let's face it, that was just a glorified net for Notts. Zero attempt to win a match, very poor all around.

    Mark, London

People seem to be forgetting Notts are trying to win the County Championship… we were ahead of Surrey on points going into this game so a draw is an excellent result.

    Fred, Nottingham

Somerset need to be way more effective in their first innings batting performances; those bonus points could make a huge difference at the end of the season.

    Steve, Bristol

Well done Sussex another good win. If it wasn't for off-field problems we would be top!

    Stuart, Birmingham

    Glos v Kent 257-8 (target 261)

Gabe Bell is bowling without an orthodox slip now and he almost prises out Joey Evison, who gets a bottom edge that manages to miss the stumps.

Evison gets bat on ball again a couple of times, but can't beat the field. It's a maiden and James Taylor is back on strike.

  6. Postpublished at 17:54 BST 11 May

    Glos v Kent 257-8 (target 261)

James Taylor guides Will Williams behind square and takes a single, then turns for the second and slips over at the non-striker's end.

So just the one run for Taylor and Joey Evison then drives the last ball of the over to cover for another single that ensures he keeps the strike.

    Four to win for Kent.

DERBYS BEAT NORTHANTS BY INNS & 113 RUNSpublished at 17:52 BST 11 May

    Scrimshaw lbw b Andersson 11 (Derbys 604-7d v Northants 228 & 263)

Martin Andersson pings George Scrimshaw on the pad and the finger goes up as Derbys bag the final wicket and a first win of the campaign.

George Bartlett is unbeaten on 65 at the non strikers' end as Derbys players join in a celebratory huddle.

The foundations for this 23 points victory were built on a dominating display with the bat in the sole Derbys innings.

Brooke Guest (141), Martin Andersson (106) and Caleb Jewell (96) built around by three half centuries from others as the hosts racked up 604-7dec.

Northants' initial reply of 228 as Ben Aitchison took 4-55 and Rory Haydon 3-72 left them not only foloowing on but so far behind the eight ball they never saw daylight again.

Zak Chappell's 4-48 proved the cutting edge for Derbys as the the visitors had another go and fell short again.

A first win of the season at the fifth attempt gives the hosts a bit of breathing space while for Northants a first defeat of the campaign still leaves them in decent shape in Division Two.

  8. Postpublished at 17:49 BST 11 May

    Glos v Kent 255-8 (target 261)

James Taylor takes a single to get off the mark and keep the strike against Gabe Bell, who's hunting a five-wicket haul.

Bell spears one in low at Taylor, who digs it out before turning him for another single behind square and Kent still need six to win.

  9. Postpublished at 17:46 BST 11 May

Northants 258-9 (trail by 118 runs)

George Scrimshaw keeps out Zak Chappell without much trouble.

Just 12 left in the day as Martin Andersson takes up the mantle again.

  10. wicket

WICKETpublished at 17:42 BST 11 May

    Dudgeon c Van Buuren b Williams 0 (Glos v Kent 253-8 - target 261)

    Would you believe it!

Eight to win, just two wickets left.

Keith Dudgeon throws the kitchen sink at Will Williams and gets right underneath it, with Graeme van Buuren holding his nerve - and the catch - at midwicket.

Here's James Taylor, on his Kent debut and into a pressure cooker situation.

  11. Postpublished at 17:41 BST 11 May

Northants 258-9 (trail by 118 runs)

Short and wide from Martin Andersson and George Bartlett cannot resist sending that to the point boundary.

Another short one to finish which Bartlett has a hook at but misses so it is Zak Chappell to George Scrimshaw.

Is this Derbys' chance to wrap it up?

  12. Postpublished at 17:39 BST 11 May

    Glos v Kent 253-7 (target 261)

Gabe Bell is short of a length and Joey Evison punches it powerfully through the off side for a boundary.

Single figures now for Kent as they inch towards the finish line.

But there's still time for it to change...

  13. Postpublished at 17:36 BST 11 May

Northants 250-9 (trail by 126 runs)

George Bartlett takes a single on the second ball of Shoaib Bashir's over so is presumably happy to expose George Scrimshaw to the former England man.

He deals with the close attentions of six men around the bat (including the wicketkeeper) and bats out the final four deliveries with little trouble.

Martin Andersson is into the attack at the other end. Just 14 overs to go.

  14. Postpublished at 17:35 BST 11 May

    Glos v Kent 248-7 (target 261)

Will Williams lifts both hands to his head in frustration as Joey Evison chops one onto his foot and away to safety, but it's a maiden.

    Still 13 required by Kent.

  15. Postpublished at 17:30 BST 11 May

Northants 247-9 (trail by 129 runs)

Umpires have signalled the match is into its last hour so George Bartlett and George Scrimshaw have 60 minutes to block out.

  16. wicket

WICKETpublished at 17:30 BST 11 May

    Ekansh Singh c Price b Bell 18 (Glos v Kent 248-7 - target 261)

Just when you thought Kent were home and hosed...

Ekansh Singh had just lifted Gabe Bell over slip for four, but the teenager then turned one off his pads and picked out the fielder at midwicket.

Tension rising as Keith Dudgeon comes to the middle, with Kent still 13 runs short of victory.

  17. Postpublished at 17:25 BST 11 May

    Glos v Kent 243-6 (target 261)

Confident stroke by Ekansh Singh, who drives Will Williams down the ground for four and that brings Kent's victory target below 20.

Something special will need to happen fairly soon for Williams, Gabe Bell or perhaps both Gloucestershire seamers, you feel.

  18. Postpublished at 17:22 BST 11 May

Northants 246-9 (trail by 130 runs)

At what point do these Northants batsmen begin to think about seeing out the remaining 18 overs?

It seems outlandish to even think about it but Bartlett has form... and this season too.

Bartlett and Ben Sanderson defied Sir James Anderson and his Red Rose crew with a last wicket partnership of 32 in early April.

They would have to better that effort, and then some, but you never know.

  19. Postpublished at 17:19 BST 11 May

    Glos v Kent 236-6 (target 261)

Will Williams is back on to bowl with Gabe Bell as Gloucestershire pin their faith in the new-ball pair to rattle through these last four Kent wickets.

Williams almost removed Joey Evison, drawing an edge that zipped between wicketkeeper and slip and rolled to the rope to bring the target down to 25.

  20. 50 runs

50 for George Bartlettpublished at 17:14 BST 11 May

Northants 245-9 (trail by 131 runs)

A late and delicate cut from George Bartlett off Shoaib Bashir brings a four and a half century for the Northants man.

It has taken 150 balls, contained seven fours and is the 17th first class half century of his career.

It is also the third of the season for Bartlett after 95* against Lancashire and 54 against Worcs.
