Thank you, Tim, and thank you for avoiding the word nurdle so far because that's the way to describe Sri Lanka's current mode of scoring against this all-spin attack.
Rehan Ahmed whirls away and Dhananjaya de Silva slogs him aggresively, but he can only glean the one as the leggie concedes just three from his third over.
It's going to continue to be attritional during this middle period as Sri Lanka continue to work the ball into the gaps against England's spin attack.

Dhananjaya de Silva slaps Will Jacks after being given a bit of width but well fielded in the covers to prevent the boundary.
Later in the over Jacks fizzes one past Dhananjaya's bat, as he attempts to guide it fine, and it goes within a whisker of off stump with one that goes straight on.

I like the Rehan Ahmed opening idea. If most of the middle order will struggle coming in against spin needing six runs an over, let's mix it up a bit! It took until Jamie Overton last time to find out who was able to strike it cleanly on the day.

That's the problem with will Jacks, he can't bowl a consistent length.

The decision was very obvious. Kusal Mendis was back in the pavilion, he knew he was out. It was a classic miscommunication. Mendis was thinking there was a run but at the other end nothing was happening. By the time they realised, it was too late.

Sri Lanka's top scorer from the fist ODI is on his way back to the pavilion.
Kusal Mendis had hit Liam Dawson to point where Will Jacks dived to his right and gathered the ball cleanly, and his throw to wicketkeeper Jos Buttler is clean. Buttler deftly whipped off the bails.
Mendis had set off for the single which probably wasn't there and he was sent back. The dive from the Sri Lankan to try to make his ground is very much in vain.
Kusal Mendis struggling to make it back into his ground at the striker's end after Dhananjaya de Silva turns down a single following a bit of a communications mix-up.
The umpire want to review it but Mendis is already walking off. He knows he's toast here.
