South Africa v Australia may be off for rain but we've got play at the Hagley Oval in Christchurch. India are 199-4 in the first T20 with four overs to go. A promising game plus I just got my dipping sauce for free because the server thought I was very kind for letting a little kid go in front of me in the queue.

Meanwhile we've had news that play between South Africa and Australia at Gqeberha is going to get going at 10:00 BST.

That short ball meant Ben Duckett couldn't control that shot completely. It's a missed chance for Sri Lanka.

You can sense Duckett's frustration as well as it skewed off the bat. He looks to the ground and looks frustrated. Sri Lanka have to capitalise on that.

  7. dropped catch

Duckett dropped on fivepublished at 9 overs

    Eng 48-0

    Oh dear.

Ben Duckett hasn't seen much of the strike today, but he has looked a bit scratchy when he has faced the ball.

He mis-times a shot off Eshan Malinga's penultimate delivery and Sahan Arachchige puts down what should have been a simple catch at point.

Just one run from the over and it was Tom Banton's.

You can see England are feeling settled now. Tom Banton, who has faced the majority of the deliveries, is taking on anything wide.

This is where he has to be ruthless. This is his opportunity. Jacob Bethell is not here and if Banton makes a hundred or makes a match-defining contribution then you feel he will have nailed his spot down but he has to make the most of it.

  9. Eng 47-0published at 8 overs

    Banton 41 (34), Duckett 5 (14)

Tom Banton looks in excellent touch, hitting another pair of consecutive fours to move into the forties.

He hits Asitha Fernando, who has changed ends, through point and then past mid-off.

I think the openers are wary of the new ball bouncing and knowing early wickets are not your friend.

It's been a good battle. England are ticking over but Ben Duckett has been starved of the strike.

  11. Eng 37-0published at 7 overs

A first change for Sri Lanka as Eshan Malinga enters the attack.

Ben Duckett takes a single to bring Tom Banton back to the strike and then Somerset man adds his sixth four, hitting confidently through mid-on.

Away from this ODI, rain is doing Australia a favour over in the Eastern Cape as they try to avoid an extraordinary defeat by South Africa in the second Test.

The final day was due to start at 08:45 BST but the covers remain in place after some morning showers.

Day four was truly dramatic - Australia were asked to follow-on for only the third time in the past 38 years - and it has put careers on the line among Australia's batters.

Big chances for England's openers here in a pressure game, a great opportunity to nail down places for the World Cup next year!

  14. Eng 31-0published at 6 overs

Another set of back-to-back boundaries from Tom Banton.

He rides a short one from Dilshan Madushanka, guiding the delivery through point, and then cracks the next delivery through the covers, with the ball beating a chasing fielder.

Banton has now faced the last 21 deliveries - Ben Duckett might be nodding off at the other end.

A watchful start for England and it's because of that extra bounce. Asitha Fernando is bowling nicely and he's kept things very simple. He's bowled at the stumps.

It has been quite even in the first five overs.

  16. Eng 23-0published at 5 over

Tom Banton adds consecutive twos, working Asitha Fernando into the leg side.

A further single takes him to 20 from 22 balls, Ben Duckett has three from eight.

Incidentally, if you care to set yourself a quiz, we'll reveal all of Duckett's opening partners in a couple of overs.

Ben Duckett has now opened the batting with six different partners in ODI cricket. His average of 64.50 with Banton is the second highest of the six.

Tom Banton has timed that really well. There's nothing the fielder could do and that's more like his performance from the other day.

  19. Eng 18-0published at 4 overs

England have had a bit of a slow start, but Tom Banton fires up the motor in the fourth over.

He picks up the first boundary of the match, edging Dilshan Madushanka out to the ropes at third. Eshan Malinga makes a bit of a mess of his fielding and lets the ball through.

Banton then makes that three consecutive fours, punching Madushanka down the ground and through the covers.

  20. Eng 5-0published at 3 overs

    That's a bit tight, Ben.

England's opener runs a quick single to cover off Asitha Fernando and the throw from the fielder scuds just past the non-striker's stumps.

Duckett would have been well short of his ground had that hit.
