Ben Pearson has not yet made his competitive debut for Manchester United
Barnsley have extended the loan spell of Manchester United midfielder Ben Pearson until 8 March.
Pearson, 20, joined the Tykes on a one-month deal in January and has scored one goal in five games for the League One side.
Barnsley assistant Chris Hutchings told BBC Radio Sheffield: "Ben's a very good player and I think he has proved that.
"It's no secret that we are big admirers of him and I'm sure there are many other clubs that are the same."
Meanwhile, left-back George Smith, 18, has agreed a contract extension, tying him to the club until the summer of 2016.
He has made six first-team appearances this term, including Saturday's 2-0 defeat by Swindon.
