James Norwood was shown the third red card of his professional career

Halifax moved up to seventh in the Conference as Forest Green's James Norwood missed a penalty and was sent off in the space of three minutes.

Scott Boden had scored the game's only goal after five minutes, finishing a Ross Dyer through ball.

Kurtis Guthrie missed a trio of chances before Norwood's 82nd-minute spot-kick was saved by Matt Glennon after Scott McManus had fouled Guthrie.

And Norwood was red carded moments later for a tackle on Lois Maynard.

There was further drama after the final whistle when both teams clashed on the sidelines, and Forest Green duo Eddie Oshodi and Dale Bennett were given red cards in the tunnel.

Halifax are just a point outside the play-offs, with Rovers a point further back as their four-game unbeaten run came to an end.
