Remembering Vialli and a Palestinian ref making history

World Football

Available for over a year

We pay tribute to the former Italy, Sampdoria, Juventus and Chelsea player Gianluca Vialli who sadly died last week. Plus, we meet Palestinian refugee Heba Saadia who's been selected as one of the Assistant Referees at this year's Women's World Cup. She grew up in a Palestinian refugee camp in Damascus but since the Syrian civil war started, has moved around the world with her family. No Palestinian has ever reached this level in football before. Picture on website: Gianluca Vialli greets supporters after Italy won Euro 2020 at Wembley Stadium.
