The sketchpad that saved my life

Outlook

Available for over a year

When Muniba Mazari was paralysed in a car crash in rural Pakistan, she thought her life was over. She spent two years bedridden and despairing until her brothers presented her with a sketchpad and oil pastels. Art became an outlet for her pain and eventually it turned into an opportunity to become a professional artist, model and Pakistan’s first wheelchair-using TV host. US hairstylist Chris McMillan created some of Hollywood's most iconic haircuts including 'The Rachel' with Jennifer Aniston from TV show Friends. But as his glitzy career was starting, a secret drug habit threatened to derail everything. He told Emily Webb about his journey to recovery. This interview was first broadcast in January 2019.
