The BBC’s Valeria Perasso tells us about two Argentinian women she met for her documentary about the children of men who committed crimes during the military dictatorship. Between 1976 and 1983, the regime hunted down and killed around 30,000 people. The Isauras of Ukraine In the 1980s, Soviet TV viewers fell in love with a Brazilian soap opera, Escrava Isaura, or Slave Isaura. BBC Ukrainian's Oksana Kundirenko was a fan, and she took Lucélia Santos, who starred in the title role, to meet some Ukrainian Isauras named in her honour. Meet the mother-in-law The figure of the mother-in-law lends itself to caricature and stereotypes, but Soutik Biswas of BBC Delhi has been investigating some research into the reality of Indian mothers-in-law. We get other perspectives from Yulia James of BBC Russian, Bidhaan Dahir of BBC Somali, Ana Pais of BBC Mundo and Giang Nguyen of BBC Vietnamese. Belgrade waits for snow The winter’s first snowfall has yet to hit the Serbian capital Belgrade. Instead, people have had to put up with fog and smog, as Stefan Veselinovic of BBC Serbian explains.
