Waymo Hails Driverless Taxi

Tech Life

Available for over a year

Waymo, formerly Google's autonomous car project, will soon offer the public rides with nobody at the wheel. Is the era of driverless taxis here? We ask the transport journalist Christian Wolmar, and our special guest Professor Paul Newman who leads the Oxford Mobile Robotics Group and its spin-out company Oxbotica. Plus, a wave of money is being invested in artificial intelligence and health. What's it being used for? We chat to physicist and startup founder Dr Elina Berglund, one of the team who identified the Higgs-Boson particle, who's now using AI to help couples with family planning. And we discover the ways in which Britain's National Health Service wants to benefit from AI. Presented by Rory Cellan-Jones, with BBC Silicon Valley reporter Dave Lee in San Francisco.
