Ebola: DRC declares the end of the latest outbreak

Focus on Africa

Available for over a year

The authorities in the east of the Democratic Republic of the Congo have declared the end of the latest Ebola outbreak, which killed six people in total in North Kivu. More than 1,500 people were vaccinated against the disease, with the World Health Organization praising the response of the health service. Plus, Professor Abdi Samatar says that Somali President Farmajo’s recent attempt to extend his own term in office amounted to “an illegal attempt to hijack the constitution”. And we meet Malian sensation Dr KEB, part of the new generation of exciting artists from a country with a rich musical tradition.
