WTO issues global recession warning

World Business Report

Available for over a year

The Director-General of the World Trade Organisation, Roberto Azevedo, is calling on governments to do everything they can to mitigate recession. The BBC's Economics Editor Andrew Walker runs through the latest WTO report. One of the world's biggest slums is struggling with the need for social distancing. The Dharavi slum in Mumbai is home to over one million people. But as the BBC's Ed Butler reports, its many workers in the informal economy need help. Ugandan businesses are also finding government measures aimed at stopping the spread of Covid-19 hard to cope with, according to Nebert Rugadya in Kampala. And over in the UK, dog trainers are turning to the internet to keep their small businesses alive.
