UK facing 'significant recession'

World Business Report

Available for over a year

The UK's economy shrank at its fastest pace since 2008 in the first three months of 2020. Russ Mould is investment director at AJ Bell, and puts the latest figures into context. We look at the health of the UK's property sector with Tim Hyatt, head of UK Residential at the estate agents Knight Frank. And Pat McDonagh, chief executive of Clarity Business Travel discusses how his sector has been hit by the coronavirus crisis. Also in the programme, with farming, trucking, aviation and shipping all dramatically affected by the pandemic, global food supply chains have been severely disrupted. The BBC's Manuela Saragosa has been investigating how that could impact our habits once the crisis subsides. Plus, Bjorn Ulvaeus of the iconic Swedish band Abba tells us what isolation and lockdown has been like for him. (Picture: A worker on a London construction site. Picture credit: Getty Images.)
