They were meant to be debating on the same stage but in the end the two US presidential candidates did their duelling at simultaneous town-hall style events on TV. One of the drugs President Trump took as his Covid-19 treatment has been shown in trials to have no effect. And in Kyrgyzstan a man in jail a week ago has now declared himself president.
