Hagia Sofia to hold Friday prayers

One of the most iconic symbols of Christianity in the Middle East will be where Muslim Friday prayers will be held later today. Turkey’s Hagia Sophia, built 1,500 years ago as an Orthodox Christian cathedral was converted back to a mosque earlier this month, despite opposition from secular groups. From today, it is compulsory to wear a face mask in public in England, to try and stop the spread of the Coronavirus. Five West African leaders have ended a day-long summit in Mali, but failed to reach a deal to end the political crisis in the country.
