Minneapolis council pledges to dismantle police

A majority of Minneapolis City Council has pledged to dismantle the local police department, a significant move amid nationwide protests sparked by George Floyd's death last month; Brazil's health ministry says the country has now registered more than thirty seven thousand deaths linked to Covid-19, with a total of more than six-hundred and eighty thousand cases, since the outbreak began; and the prime minister of New Zealand, Jacinda Ardern, has announced a significant easing of coronavirus restrictions on day to day activities across the country.
