Violent clashes between police and protesters in US cities

Newsday

Available for over a year

Police in the United States have clashed with demonstrators across the country, as anger over the killing of an African- American man, George Floyd, intensifies. There have been violent confrontations in dozens of cities including New York, Chicago, Atlanta, Philadelphia and Los Angeles. Mexico has nearly recorded 10,000 deaths from Coronavirus - the second highest death toll on Latin America after Brazil. In response to the pandemic, governments around the world have required their citizens returning from abroad to spend time in a quarantine centre -- but in Africa in particular, this is becoming a growing problem.
