Not everyone in France welcomes school’s reopening

Newsday

Available for over a year

President Emmanuel Macron's announcement of France reopening schools next week hasn't been welcomed by everyone. Mayors have gone as far as sending him letters and called the plan to lift the lockdown 'unreachable and unrealistic'. Russia is recalling the army medical personnel they sent to help Italy cope with coronavirus in March. Russia has recorded more than ten-thousand new cases a day for the past four days. More than 600 people have died of Covid-19 in Brazil in the past 24 hours - the highest death toll for a single day anywhere in the southern hemisphere. President Jair Bolsonaro has so far dismissed the severity of the pandemic and has encouraged people to carry on working.
