Can India's economy weather the Covid-19 crisis?

World Business Report

Available for over a year

Raghuram Rajan was previously head of the Reserve Bank of India and is now Professor of Finance at the Chicago Booth School of Business. We ask him how well-placed India is to deal with the coronavirus crisis. As Covid-19 forces more of us to work from home, we explore the challenges it poses. Also in the programme, as the US Congress signs off on a draft stimulus package worth two trillion dollars, aimed at alleviating the economic impact of the coronavirus outbreak, we get analysis from Susan Schmidt at Aviva Investors. Kenya's government has suspended international passenger flights, shut down bars and restricted restaurants to only take-aways. Our reporter Mercy Juma looks at how this is affecting the hospitality industry. And we speak to Juan Pablo Rosso, a news presenter on Colombian TV about the severity of the coronavirus outbreak in Columbia.
