There's been a sharp rise in the number of deaths from the virus in Italy, where tight restrictions have been imposed. Figures obtained by BBC Africa Eye show that The Gambia has exported more than 300,000 tonnes of rosewood to China despite the country depleting its own homegrown supply of this valuable and rare timber years ago and West African Rosewood being internationally protected. And one of the jihadist groups in Mali says its ready for negotiations with the Malian government. What will this mean for the country and the Sahel region.
