Iran call claims that they shot down a passenger plane "illogical rumours"

Officials in the US, Canada and Britain have indicated that Iranian forces mistakenly fired missiles at a Ukrainian airliner, bringing the plane down near Tehran. The army in Niger says a military camp was attacked by suspected Islamist militants, killing at least 25 soldiers and more than 60 assailants. Ethiopia has announced plans to open up its telecoms market through the sale of shares in the state-owned company, Ethio Telecom.
