Khazakhstan crash: at least 14 dead, many survivors

An airliner belonging to Bek Air with 98 people on board has crashed shortly after taking off from Almaty airport in Kazakhstan. At least fourteen people are known to have died. Israel's prime minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, has claimed a resounding victory over his rival, Gideon Saar, in an internal election for the leadership of the governing Likud party. Astronomers are warning that thousands of communications satellites due to be blasted into space next year could impede their research.
