President Trump signs Hong Kong pro-democracy bill

President Donald Trump has signed into law a bill approved by the US Congress in support of pro-democracy protesters in Hong Kong. It requires the State Department to certify that Hong Kong retains enough autonomy to justify favourable US trading terms. There have been renewed demonstrations in Malta where protesters are demanding the resignation of the prime minister over his handling of the murder of the anti-corruption journalist Daphne Caruana Galizia. UN Peacekeepers investigate allegations they killed a protester in Beni in the eastern part of the Democratic Republic of Congo. Meanwhile, civilians from the town been accusing the UN forces of not doing enough to protect them against deadly rebel attacks.
