Hong Kong opposition candidates have so far won 17 out of 18 district councils - all of which were previously dominated by establishment parties - in the first electoral test after months of protests against the territory's pro-Beijing leadership. A company partly owned by the British Government is accused of a series of environmental and human rights abuses in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Later today women in many countries will take to the streets to protest at violence against them as part of the "Not One More" campaign; it coincides with the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women.
